What is FURY?
FURY stands for the Fellowship of the United Reformed Youth. It encompasses all youth work done within the URC, and any young person aged 14 – 25 linked to the URC is a member of FURY.
How is FURY run?
Work within FURY operates at three levels: national, synod and local church.
At a national level, FURY is run by FURY Advisory Board overseen by John Brown, (Secretary for Youth Work), and FURY Advisory Board, which is a group of young people from all over the UK.
There are two main annual events run nationally, which are FURY Assembly and FURY Forum.
In Wessex Synod, FURY events are run by the Synod Youth Executive, overseen by two Children and Youth Development Officers (CYDO). Ruth White is the CYDO for the southern part of the Synod, and Phil Ray is the CYDO for the northern part of the Synod.
How can I get involved with FURY?
Throughout the year, there are many events run for the youth of the URC, and for more information on upcoming events, see the events section.
