World Church

Functions of the World Church Group

To provide a link with the Assembly International Relations office and the 'Belonging to the World Church' programme
To foster a link with a European church, currently the Eglise Réformée de France
To foster a link with a non-European church, currently the United Church of Zambia
To keep in touch with other world church issues, through the Council for World Mission (CWM) and other organisations
To act as the Synod link for 2012 Olympics issues
To be aware of the activities of Commitment for Life
To inform, challenge and encourage local churches throughout Wessex to get involved in world church matters
To liaise with the Synod Church and Society Group (which has the direct responsibility for Commitment for Life) and to report to the Synod Mission and Outreach Committee
