The URC Youth is the United Reformed Church Youth provision across the denomination, focusing on the age range 11-25.

The Wessex Synod are focused on ensuring young people are welcomed, valued, and included as equals within the life of local churches and in the wider aspects of the synod.  We provide events and opportunities to enable young people to connect, build lasting friendships, have a voice in the governance of the church and support with their development including their faith and deepening their relationship with God.

Our work is focused on three groups:

Some events / opportunities are for two groups such as the Youth Camp which is for both Younger and Older Youth, while Youth Assembly is for Older and UNI+ Youth.  Please look out for which programmes are available for which groups.

There are regular opportunities for young people to shape the future and these times are built in to events or are arranged to link with other committees.  During these events our young people will fulfil the decision-making responsibilities of a Youth Executive, such as reviewing and awarding grant applications, agreeing venues or programme plans for future events.

The Wessex URC Youth support young people participating in mission-based projects/trips through their Mission Grant.

The work is led and supported by our Children & Youth Development Officers, Phil Ray and Ruth White.
